No-bid cost calculator

What did you not bid last year?

Every firm tracks its capture rate. Almost nobody tracks the pursuits they never entered. This works out roughly what that came to, using your numbers, and shows you the arithmetic.

Only the ones you were genuinely qualified for. Skip the ones outside your disciplines.

Base term only for on-calls. Don't count option years.

Capture rate is dollar-weighted: value awarded over value submitted. Win rate is count-based. Because this multiplies a count by an average contract value, capture rate is the correct input here.

Blended across whoever touches it: coordinator, principal, SMEs.

The math runs in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you ask for the worksheet.

What this number isn't

  • It assumes the work you passed on was comparable to the work you bid. Some of it wasn't. Treat this as the ceiling of a category, not a forecast.
  • It does not assume you'd have won any particular one. It assumes you'd have captured at the rate you already capture.
  • No tool changes your capture rate. This measures at-bats you skipped, nothing else.
  • If you're not tracking solicitations you declined, field 1 is a guess, and so is this number. That's worth knowing on its own.
